STX Engine, led by CEO Lee Sang-Su, and Dnotitia Inc., led by CEO Chung Moo-Kyoung, announced that they have signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) to drive the successful development of the Defense AI Data Center project in Changwon.
This MOU was established to drive investment and build a framework for strategic cooperation in the AI data center project, aiming to expand the integration of artificial intelligence across the defense sector and strengthen data-driven defense capabilities.
Dnotitia will lead the planning and development of the AI data center project while establishing its operational framework. Meanwhile, STX Engine will participate as a strategic investor and supply key power infrastructure equipment, including generators.
With the rapid expansion of the AI industry, data centers have become increasingly vital. In the defense sector specifically, securing high-performance computing infrastructure for large-scale data processing and AI model training has emerged as a key pillar of national competitiveness.
Under the MOU, the two companies plan to work closely across key areas, including (i) participating in strategic investments for the defense AI data center project, (ii) supplying power infrastructure equipment such as generators, (iii) collaborating on defense AI technologies and solutions, (iv) revitalizing the local industrial ecosystem, and (v) strengthening South Korea’s overall defense AI competitiveness.
Specifically, STX Engine will leverage its decades of expertise in power equipment and engine technology to supply key power infrastructure, including generators, necessary for the reliable operation of AI data centers.
Meanwhile, Dnotitia plans to utilize its capabilities in AI data center development and operations to build specialized defense AI infrastructure, fostering an environment where military organizations and defense contractors can seamlessly adopt AI.
Both companies expect the partnership to serve as a key catalyst for building a defense AI ecosystem centered in Changwon, as well as accelerating digital transformation and bolstering AI competitiveness across South Korea’s defense industry.

Looking ahead, the two companies plan to establish a working committee to flesh out the project details and develop a phased roadmap for the Changwon Defense AI Data Center initiative.
