STX Engine Showcases Export-Oriented ‘Total Solution’ Strategy at YIDEX to Accelerate Global Naval M

STX Engine is expanding its global reach,
leveraging its accumulated technological expertise in the maritime defense
sector.
STX Engine announced that it will
participate in the upcoming Yi Sun-sin Defense Industry Exhibition (YIDEX),
held from April 1 to 3 at the Republic of Korea Naval Academy and Pier 11 of
the Jinhae Naval Base in Changwon, Gyeongnam, to showcase its advanced
technologies, including naval engines and integrated propulsion systems.
At the
heart of the exhibit, STX Engine will feature its flagship 1163 Series main
propulsion engines, currently
utilized in Mine Layer Ships (MLS-II) and Patrol Killer Guided-missile (PKG)
vessels. The
company will also present models of the 4000 Series generator engines designed
for submarines and next-generation frigates. Additionally,
the company plans to introduce core equipment in the maritime
surveillance and detection fields, such as the Towed Array Sensor System (TASS)
and coastal surveillance radars.
STX Engine is differentiating itself in the competitive global
defense landscape through a “Total Solution-based Integrated Package” strategy
that offers turnkey systems integrating propulsion, power systems, and
surveillance sensors, moving beyond simple engine supply. By proposing various
equipment together to meet the needs of domestic and international customers,
the company is emphasizing its capabilities in customized integrated solutions.
This strategy aligns with the growing trend of integrated
"package" exports in the global defense market. STX Engine has proven
its competitiveness with successful propulsion system deliveries to the
Philippines and Thailand. Building on this momentum, STX Engine is actively
participating in recent naval vessel export projects in Latin America and the
Middle East, steadily reinforcing its foundation for sustained export growth.
Lee Sang-Su, CEO of STX Engine, stated, “We expect YIDEX to
provide a unique opportunity to showcase our advanced defense capabilities, set
against a backdrop that reflects Jinhae’s distinct identity as a naval hub and
its maritime environment. Based on cooperation with the Navy and the local
community, we intend to broaden our engagement with global defense leaders and
solidify STX Engine’s reputation as a world-class provider of integrated naval
solutions.”
